this month, liz is hosting the challenge over on her blog and safieh and i are playing along. we hope you'll join us!
in august i managed to finish two quilts - one new and one old(er)!
first, i started a new project back in july, even though i probably shouldn't have. i made this braid quilt using an opal owl jelly roll that i won at the Houston Modern Quilt Guild retreat back in early may.
i originally intended this quilt as a gift, but since i had to rip out almost the entire quilt's worth of quilting i'm kind of attached to it and think i'll keep it.
my second finish for August was a quilt made from VQB blocks from two different bees spanning from 2010 - 2011. i used the blocks from the scrappy bee for the back, and blocks from two rounds of embroiderbee on the front. i pebble quilted this and i really love how it turned out!
this is one of my favorite blocks from the front:
my good friend jacey was kind enough to take these great photos for me!
so, what are you waiting for? go on over to liz's blog, link up your finish and enter to win some fat quarters!

LOVE the braid quilt - it is really awesome!
I really love both of these, but your embroider bee finish is one of my favorites of yours. The gray and purples look so pretty together!
