WIP Wednesday (Better Late Than Never!)
Back in January I pulled out all of my WIPs and made myself a list, with the goal of completing everything on the list in 2012. So far I've made excellent progress, despite adding in new projects! One of the quilts on my list was a 1930's reproduction quilt. At the beginning of the year, this quilt consisted of blocks sewn into three rows for a quilt, plus a bunch of loose blocks.
After much deliberation, I ended up deciding this quilt would be perfect for the guest bedroom, since we had recently purchased a bedroom suite from the same era. The quilt had to be large enough to fit a full size mattress, so I ended up ripping apart the rows I had and sewed sashing between the blocks.
I also asked Erin to quilt this one on her long arm. I let her pick the quilting pattern, and when she brought me the quilted quilt back last Saturday, it was gorgeous! This picture shows the quilting a bit better:
With some help from M I choose a binding fabric and have the binding machine stitched to the front of the quilt. While we do a bit of driving this weekend, I'll do the handstitching in the car!
and just because, here's a picture of my OTHER helper, all sacked out from a hard day of quilting:

Good choice, M! I like the blue & love pics of cats & quilts!
Mr. Bat! Ozzie! Oh, and there's a quilt, too. Sorry, I was distracted. ;) I'm excited you're about to finish ANOTHER one!!
Sorry, Miss Kitty. I misidentified you. That's one more thing you can hold against me.
