WIP Wednesday & a Giveaway!

little apples drunkard's path blocks

i've made more progress on my little apples drunkard's path blocks in the past week.  by last saturday morning i had the quadrants for twenty small blocks all made, and by monday morning i had twenty completed small blocks.

layout for little apples baby quilt

i knew that the twenty blocks laid out 4 x 5 was too small even for a baby quilt, so i waffled over what to do.  i finally decided that i'd rather make four large drunkard's path blocks for the center of the quilt and use the small blocks as a border than to have to make twenty more small blocks!

as you can see in the picture above, i've now got all of my blocks made (20 small and 4 large) and have them laid out and ready to sew together.  i'm hoping for a bit of sewing time tonight to get these sewn together, then i need to pick out backing and binding.  i shouldn't have any trouble getting this all finished except the handstitching on the binding before my surgery on june 7, so that i can do that while i'm recovering.

and now for the giveaway . . . i decided a while back that i wanted to host a giveaway to celebrate my 200th blog post, and today's is #200!  so, if you'd like to enter to win a fabulous FQ bundle of some of my fave fabrics, just comment below.  for a second entry, let me know if you subscribe by email or follow my blog.  good luck!

I LOVE what you decided to do with the drunkards. It looks really cool this way with the little ones as the border. Very very awesome :)

Oh, I really love what you're doing with little apples! I've got two layer cakes stashed at home and haven't figuered out what to do with them yet.
