another busy week here at the C-R household, but i did manage to accomplish my goals for the week.
i finished the top of my "hugs and kisses" picnic quilt out of Denyse Schmidt's line, Florence, which will be available for sale in August, pieced a backing, and even got it basted yesterday with the help of a friend. i also cut out and sewed a dress out of this fabric, from Denyse Schmidt's Greenfield Hills line from a few years back. i'm not as thrilled with the dress as i'd hoped to be, though M really likes it, so i didn't take pictures. i think maybe it's just that I don't have the right belt to go with it.
i seem to be on a garment sewing kick right now, as i whipped up this dress today from Simplicity 1810, using a linen blend eyelet that i bought on a whim friday night at Joann for a steal at $3 per yard! this dress, while not so fab on the hanger, is super cute on! in fact, i have a solid leaf green linen that i've laundered and plan to cut out and sew this same dress from it tomorrow!
goals for this week:
---> cut out and sew Simplicity 1810 in green linen
---> quilt Hugs & Kisses picnic quilt
---> bind picnic quilt
---> work on dr. who tardis cross stitch
Happy Memorial Day tomorrow!
