The Weekly List

this has been another busy week for me.  my parents and niece came on wednesday to visit and just left this morning.  M was mostly at work or gone to the deer lease, leaving me to keep everyone entertained!  fortunately, my mom likes to clean, so i got her to help me go through a few kitchen cabinets.  we filled a few bags which got donated to goodwill, threw away some junk, and reorganized things.

things i noted during this process:
1.  we do NOT need to buy school/office supplies.  ever.  end of story.  if you need a pen, pencil, or scissors, my house is the place to be.
2.  we had so many kitchen items that were new, in packaging, that we've received as gifts, but already had multiples of the same things.  even we don't need SIX 9" x 13" pyrex dishes!
3.  my mother tends to buy us repeats of the same item.  for example, i unearthed a turkey baster and a special tongs thingie to lift the turkey out of the roaster.  then i found another set of these items, still in the packaging!  i'm pretty sure we don't need duplicates of these!

yesterday,while my mom and niece took a three and a half hour nap, i stitched up ten infinity scarves from some voile that had been delivered the day before.  four of the scarves are for me, and six i'm putting back for christmas gifts for next year.  they're cute, shockingly easy, and are pretty inexpensive if you get the voile on sale, which i did!

i've got to work tomorrow, but have tuesday off.  i'd like to continue the cleaning/organizing thing this week, before i lose momentum.

goals for this week:

---> set my long-term goals for 2013
---> clean/organize the under-sink cabinet in the kitchen
---> sort through cookbook cabinet and donate those i don't use/won't use
---> continue craft room organization
