12 in '12 Challenge - July Finish(es)

001

this month, safieh is hosting our challenge, so hop on over to her blog to link up your finish and enter to win this month's giveaway!

i was hoping to have a whole lot of finishes, since last month i had only one, but things didn't go exactly as planned this month.  fortunately, i have two quilts basted and ready to quilt, so i've got a head start on August!

nonetheless, i ended up with three finishes this month - two from my pre-2012 WIP list and one new project. first, i finished up a black, white and red quilt from elizabeth hartman's new wave pattern.  M claimed this one for himself before it was even finished.  i'm pleased with how it turned out, except for the fact that the solid red bled, even though i used a colorcatcher in the washer!

next, i whipped up a quilt to be a present, but i haven't gifted it yet, so that's all i'll say about that one.

finally, last night i finished putting the binding on my 1930s sampler quilt, pictured above.  this is probably the oldest item on my WIP list, so i'm thrilled to finally have it finished and put to good use in our guest room.  our niece emily is coming to spend the next few weeks with us, and i'm sure she'll enjoy snuggling under it!
