On Monday night, some of the members of the Houston Modern Quilt Guild assembled for some sewing and socializing. This was the first of our new week-night monthly sew-ins, and it was a big success with 16 attendees! Mona gave a great paper piecing tutorial and handed out kits to everyone with instructions, a glue stick and four patterns, one each on vellum, regular copy paper, newsprint and a thin interfacing-type paper. Even though I'be already done quite a bit of paper piecing, I'm excited to see how the vellum works.

While I was at this gathering, I was able to squeeze in some more drunkard's path blocks in between my socializing!
It's so very weird, though. . . Last time I had problems with the small blocks but the large ones were darn near perfect. This time my small blocks are near perfect but my large blocks are awful!!! See . . . they're nowhere near square!
