welcome to the June installment of the 12 Quilts in ’12 Challenge! I’m hosting here on my blog, but be sure to check out the finishes of my co-hosts, safieh and liz! We hope you will join in!
before i tell you about this month's finish, i'd like to share a picture of my finished quilts for the first half of the year:
ok, so ozzie isn't a finish, but i needed another pic to fill in the mosaic!
i'm pretty pleased with my accomplishments when i can see them all together like this.
last month, instead of working on more unfinished projects on my list, i started a new quilt. several of us were playing with a friend's Accuquilt Go! and i wanted to cut some drunkard's path blocks. since i had at least three Little Apples charm packs, i cut one, and cut an equal number of kona white to fill in. later i cut a few in medium grey to mix with the white prints from the Little Apples line.
i didn't really have a plan in mind, i just started sewing my blocks and arranging them on my design wall. i ended up with circles, and then i quilted about a 1/2" outside of each circle using my walking foot. i backed with a grey circles print from the DS Quilts line for JoAnn and used a print that reminds me of reinforcement circles from Moda's Hello Betty line. this was my first attempt at curved piecing and i love how it turned out!!
jacey took these fantastic pictures for me before i had a chance to handstitch the binding to the back.
