Fresh Modern Bee 2

okay, so a week or so ago i joined my tenth virtual quilting bee! i know, i know, enough is enough and i need to stop with ten, but they're so addictive!

anyway, i got picked to kick us off in june. M has been wanting me to make a bed quilt for us, so i thought this would be a good opportunity to get a lot of the blocks done. i made up two sample blocks, and mark approves of the block and the color scheme. most of the other 14 people in the Bee said they'd make two blocks each, so i'll only need about 3 more, as i calculated 30 blocks plus thin inner border and larger inner border to make a very generously sized quilt for our bed. each block is 16" square finished. here's my first sample:

also, our little garden is doing well. here's our "crop" from about a week ago:

last night i got 4 more cherry tomatoes and a couple carrots, and a regular tomato or two are going to be ready to pick tonight. after i got the tomato in the picture, i also pulled some of our lettuce and made a BLT with the lettuce and tomato, and it was the very best BLT i've ever eaten!

Mmm...love fresh veggies!
I wish I had room to have a garden.

Love the block! I can't believe you are in 10 bee's. I would never have any time for myself and I stay at home with Aliya all day...lol

@alliekatmom: i got four more regular tomatoes this morning! and you don't need very much room at all. we just have the one bed across the front of the house.
