i finally remembered to take a picture of my sewing room in its "after" state:
last weekend i cleaned off another area of the room, a shelf which had been crammed full of stuff and which now looks like this:
here's my latest stash addition. it was ordered to make christmas presents for my fellow houston modern quilt guild members, but the size of the elephants, giraffes, and owls are much larger than i anticipated. that idea got tossed, but i've come up with one just as good. no hints from me, though!
this one i'm going to use to make a new ironing board cover:
even though i still have about ten blocks i need to make for various bees for august, i've been procrastinating. how, you ask. well, first i've been working on my blocks for the 3x6 mini bee, which aren't due for about three weeks. i only have to make 6 blocks total, all the same pattern, but using each person's color choices. i finally settled on a simple block that i could use to showcase some medium to large prints. i have 4 of 6 done, the 5th cut out, and am trying to pick fabric for the 6th. i can't post pics in the flickr group yet, as i want to wait until everyone receives then, but here's a sneak peek for those of you who read this:
finally, i worked from home today, but took a break this afternoon and made two hexies - all i allowed myself because that used the thread i already had on a needle:
aren't they cute?
