Weekend Finishes, Goodies for Modern Swap, and Upcycled Fashion

despite the fact that most of the weekend was spent getting mark ready to go back out of town this morning, i got quite a bit of stuff done.

first, i finished the baby quilt i've been working on for friends that are due in the next ten days or so. my pics (surprise!) aren't great, but the quilt is so lovely in person, and it came out of the dryer all nice and crinkly. the colors were picked based on a link the couple sent me to some picks that were inspirations for their nursery decorating. gender of baby is unknown.

i also did a bit of fashion upcycling this weekend. sadly, i've put back on a bit of weight, so many of my summer skirts just don't fit well right now. a month or so ago, i bought this dress from target's liberty of london line on clearance for $6.24:

dress is hideous, but i love love love the skirt fabric, which is a lightweight cotton voile, and the dress skirt was also lined. enter scissors, favorite skirt pattern, zipper in proper color already on hand, and viola:

quite lovely new skirt! i also got the dress in the black version, so another upcycled skirt is coming soon.

and i finally had a chance to take a pic of some goodies for my partner for the Modern Swappers swap - a kaffe fasset jelly roll and a robert kaufman solids charm squares pack:
